Shooting In Contrasting Lights / by Ian Hedges

As sports start moving into winter, there is a further challenge which starts to influence shooting. That is having to shoot into the sun and is made especially worse on pitches which have a north-south alignment. With hockey, there can be a further complication, which is the sand used on the pitch. This can be highly reflective in certain circumstances, especially as the sun gets lower.

In this match between Slazenger Ladies 2nd's and Pudsey 1st team, shooting into the sun was an unfortunate reality at some points. The only real solution is to move around the pitch as much as possible to get the shots.

A 2-0 home victory was a good way to wrap up the day!
