Ok so the portfolio on the other page does not appear overnight, usually they take between several days and several weeks to complete. Hopefully on this page I will be able to show how current jobs are moving on. The most obvious current project is now Jeff 3D, since Jeff 1 has been finished.

CURRENT JEFFS JOURNEYS

For anyone who doesn't know Jeffs Journeys is an animated cartoon about a talking egg. There have been 4 episodes done in Flash, one being essentially a 'redrawing' or the original. I have had wanted to do a story in 3D, and only now with a decent amount of time and some experience using a 3D package, I can attempt it. Below is a set of entries chronicalling the progress in this new medium.

3D STORYBOARDING PT 1

In previous developments, the storyboards shown in the previous update were as far as I would go before beginning to draw stuff. This time though I am using photoshop to put together basic, but instructive storyboards. Each of them has the colour pallet i plan to use, as well as simple blocking ideas. It means that when I eventually come to setting up the scene, then I will have a better idea of what I am going to do. I will still be able to experiment with elements, but there will be a stronger plan.


so below I have stuck a few images, so you can see the general feel of the storyboards, but they wont give the plot away!


BASIC STORYBOARDING

So it has taken a while, bit I have finally got round to starting the new Jeff. This time it is going to be in glorious 3D. Ive planned out the basic storyborad, which you can see in the images below, but I plan to redraw them larger, with more detail as to colour, composition, etc. The idea with this project is to do it properly, and not just rush into it. The last few flash attempts have gotten harder at the most important parts, when I have decided not to storyborad and plan them.


So as the old adage goes,"Failing to plan, is planning to fail", lets just hope it all doesn fail.


2D JEFF STUFF

There are a few more projects which are currently in the process of development. Mainly just images, since moving things take a lot more hard work and time.

CLOCKWORK APPLE The infamous clockwork apple, which has been languishing in development hell, who might get finished.

THE THUNDERCHILD One of the ideas I have had is to build the thunderchild. This is a 1900's steam powered ship. Completely fictional, but based on historical ships. It was the ship from the original War Of The Worlds which goes up against 3 martian tripods, and valiantly holds them off to allow the refugees to escape England. It seems this is just going to be a pipe dream for a long time, since it will be pretty time consuming.
